Precautions while taking Limovan
Taking Limovan with alcohol or CNS depressants (antihistamines, hay fever medicines, pain medicines, tranquilizers, sedatives, seizure medicines, muscle relaxants or aesthetics etc.) further add up to their effects. And an overdose of the drug along-with alcohol or CNS depressants can cause problems such as unconsciousness and breathing difficulties, clumsiness, mood swings, drowsiness, fatigue and weakness.
Limovan use may make elderly people feel drowsy, unsteady than they usually are. The pill may make some people feel less alert on waking up in the morning even though it is taken at night time. Avoid activities such as driving, using machinery or anything that can be dangerous before the Limovan’s affect wears off.
On any occasion where the patient feels that they are developing any unusual or strange thoughts (such as hallucinations, depression, suicidal thoughts), or strange behaviour (unusual excitement, nervousness, irritability) then they must consult their doctor immediately.
If a patient has been using Limovan for a long time then they must consult their doctors first before discontinuing as it may be more advisable to gradually reduce the dosage before stopping completely to avoid any withdrawal symptoms.
One may suffer from rebound insomnia i.e. difficulty sleeping for first few nights after you stop taking Limova,
If you or someone has taken an overdose of Limovan then get emergency help at once.
Limovan treatment is a short duration treatment. If the patient feels that they need the drug for more than 7-10 days then it must be done only after consulting the doctor. If taken in excess it may become habit-forming causing mental and physical dependence.
